Drink - Book signing "L'éléphant blanc" de Jacques Sudre
Come and meet the writer Jacques Sudre and take advantage of a signing session to talk with him about his new book:
The white elephant, an adventure of Colonel de Sallanches, a geographical engineer in the service of the Emperor
Copenhagen September 1807. The world holds its breath. The kingdom of Denmark, a neutral country, is brutally invaded by the English. 30,000 men besiege Copenhagen while the Royal Navy prepares its bombardment. Colonel de Sallanches, sent by Napoleon, will he manage to save the capital from the flames? Will the Danish fleet fall into Wellington's hands? Lovers of history and thrillers, you are immersed with L'Éléphant Blanc in the third adventure of Louis de Sallanches, engineer geographer in the service of the Emperor.
Trained as a historian, Jacques Sudre is passionate about Napoleonic history. Drawing on the English tradition of the historical novel and combining the rigor of research with the density of the plot, it seeks to show how the ideas and events that agitated this period still find their echoes in our 21st century. The White Elephant, his third novel published by L'Harmattan, continues the adventures of Colonel de Sallanches, after Le matin d'Eylau (2015) and L'or de Malte (2018).
